Zimbabwe

Why you should visit Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a land of rich and dramatic contrast, ranging from the Kalahari sands of the Hwange, across the remote and beautiful Mana Pools, to one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, the magnificent Victoria Falls. The country has so much to entice visitors, with its friendly people and climate, rich culture, and spectacular natural beauty. It is the home of five UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Mani Pools, Khami Ruins National Monument, the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, Victoria Falls and the Matobo Hills.

The country is landlocked between South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. The mighty Zambezi River runs at its northern frontier and the Limpopo at its southern border. The habitat ranges from the granite hills of the Matopos to the majestic mountains, dense forests and flowing rivers of the Eastern Highlands.

Despite two decades of governmental mismanagement, political violence and economic disaster, Zimbabwe continues to welcome visitors with the same friendly grace and courtesy for which they were always famed. With recent changes in government, there is much hope for a new era. Good wildlife viewing and adrenalin adventures are also on offer. Our experienced team at Asante look forward to hearing from you and helping you create your perfect Zimbabwean holiday.

When is the best time to visit

Dress is casual and light, loose cotton or linen clothing is most comfortable in the heat. For safaris, clothing in earth tones such as browns, greens and tans help with camouflage and blending into the surroundings. Always necessary are brimmed hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Warmer clothes are advised for the evenings and rainwear for the wet season between December and March.
